About NatureGlo
Natureglo during a wilderness exploration
in the mountains of West Virginia fall 2011.
Natureglo aka Gloria Brooks has been involved with teaching since she was in seventh grade when she began teaching sunday school in her teens. It was in seventh grade that Natureglo knew she wanted to be a teacher. in 1996, while in college, she became inspired to study natural history. In 2003, she embarked on a personal journey "to get back to nature", thus nicknaming herself Natureglo. Personal nature connecting studies included nature immersion by learning basic survival skills (fire-making, flint-knapping and building debris shelters), birding and keeping a nature journal.
She has taught all grades and most subjects in K- 12 education. She holds a BA degree in K-12 education with certificates from Kamana I and II programs from the Wilderness Awareness School. With a passion for wildlife and connecting to the natural world, Natureglo presents her best in natural history at natureglosescienc.com as an independent instructor called Natureglo's eScience (NeS). The NeS program begin in 2010 within an intentional community, called Heathcote Community in Maryland, of which she was a member of for a year and a half. It was at Heathcote's 112 acres of wooded valley with gardens, pristine trails and gurgling stream, where Natureglo began her on site art and science center called Heathcote Art & Science Center (HASC). The center's name changed to NeS and evolved into a non-religious online math enrichment and science eLearning center beginning in March, 2011.
